Weekend/weekday markets and car-boot fairs in the centre of Clacton, Jaywick Sands and nearby Weeley. 
The Wescliffe Theatre and Princes Theatre, Clacton - with excellent summer programmes

Colchester

The country's oldest recorded town with its castle, museum, award-winning zoo and excellent shopping area with lots to do in the evening.  Less than thirty minutes by road or rail from Clacton on Sea.

Manningtree

England's smallest market town, with two markets a week (Fridays and Saturdays)

Constable Country

With its beautiful  countryside painted by the famous landscap artist John Constable.  Visit the villages of Flatford, Stratford St Mary and also Dedham famous for its cream teas.

Harwich

Harwich with its fascinating harbour, cruise ships leaving to explore the fjords .  Visit the renowned fish restaurant The Pier at Harwich for tasty lunch or a stylish evening meal.

Felixstowe

Felixstowe with its working port and excellent sandy beaches.

Brightlingsea
