About Manningtree and Mistley

Manningtree and Mistley villages were merged in 2007 to form a single Parish.  Lying beside the Stour Estuary, it is located in the Tendring disctrict of Essex 14 miles/22 kms from Clacton on Sea and 11 miles northeast of Colchester.
 
There is a railway station in both Manningtree and Mistley.  Manningtree offers direct services to London in less than an hour.

Mistley is the home of Mistley Place Park has over 2000 rescued animals at any one time.  Open to the public, their animal guests can include goats, sheep, ducks, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, chickens, horses, rabbits alpacas and peacocks.  There are also Tearooms outside the park offering afternoon tea, sandwiches and snacks most days as wells as regular specials including Fish and chips on a Friday and Roast dinners on a Sunday.  To find out more, visit their web page for information by clicking here.
